What is NLP?
Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) models the science
and art of human thinking and behaviour and encompasses its three most
important elements:
Neurology
The neurological system regulates how our bodies function
Language
Language determines how we interface and communicate with other people
Programming
Our programming determines the kinds of models of the world we create
NLP describes the fundamental dynamics between mind
(neuro) and language (linguistic) and how their interplay effects our
body and behavior (programming)
Dr Richard Bandler, a scientist and John Grinder, a linguist first developed NLP thirty years ago.
Their unique combination of skills and their adventurous spirit uncovered:
-
How language works and therefore how it can be used most effectively, both to communicate with yourself and others.
-
How our thinking processes really work and therefore
how you can change unwanted behaviours, develop inner resources and
become the person you want to be.
In the 30 years since these first beginnings all aspects of human
thinking and behaviour and many areas of excellence have been modelled.
The resulting powerful and elegant system can now be applied for anyone
personally and professionally.
NLP has modelled the skills and behaviours of excellence in:
-
Leadership
-
Communication
-
Problem Solving
-
High Performance
-
Influence and Persuasion
-
Effective Therapy
-
Negotiating
-
Creativity
and a great many other areas besides.
What does this mean for me?
Quite simply, NLP can be applied in two ways:
Firstly, to help you transform habits, behaviours, fears, negative
thinking into positive and healthy alternatives – permanently.
Secondly to help you learn faster, recall better and perform better in any area of life.
NLP can be applied to your personal life, any sort of communication,
relationships, to art, music, mathematics, sport, business, health,
therapy, education etc.
How can I learn NLP?
The best gift you can give yourself and those you love is the 7 day
licensed NLP Practitioner training. During this intensive,
life-changing course, you learn, practice the skills and experience the
benefits for yourself, along with your fellow participants.
Most people find the personal gains and the changes they make are
life-transforming and well worth the time and money. At the same time
you are gaining an internationally recognised practitioner
qualification – investing in your future professionally as well as
personally.
Your practitioner qualification allows you to set up in practice to see
individual clients, if you wish. In any event it is an excellent
addition to your CV, valued and welcomed in many work settings and
you’ll be reaping the benefits of your new skills for years to come.
This also means that, unlike some trainings which are forgotten soon
after returning to the ‘real world’, your NLP skills will remain with
you, as you’ll be using and integrating them into your life from day
one.
If you don’t have the time or money to take the full course right now,
you can still benefit from individual sessions with an experienced NLP
Practitioner or Master Practitioner. You can quickly get the specific
help you need for the challenges you face, or changes you wish to make
in your life. NLP works quickly and easily, so you’ll need far fewer
sessions than with other therapies or interventions.
Imagine being free of a debilitating phobia or smoking habit, in just
one or two sessions, or gaining positive self confidence in the same
time, for situations such as exams, interviews or public speaking. This
and more is realistic and achievable with NLP, and the results are
lasting.
